Rationale:
To encourage excellent behaviour and manners from our students; to promote healthy competition between the houses; to form a bond of friendship and sisterhood between students from different year groups.
Houses:
- Maryam – BLUE
- Khadijah – ORANGE
- Asiya – YELLOW
Each house is represented by a name and a colour. Students are given coloured badges to attach on to their blazers. Students in each house are required to support each other in and around the school, and in competitions. Older students can act as mentors for younger students.
Awarding points:
- House points are awarded for any rewarding action, excellent behaviour and anything that the students do around school (in class or outside of class) that is out of the ordinary.
- Merits will no longer be given for behaviour but will now be reserved for excellent class and homework only.
- House points are also awarded in inter-house competitions such as in Sports Club, Qur’an competitions, Games Club etc.
- At the end of each month/term, the house points are counted and students told of the leading house.
Reward:
TBC. Suggestions so far: trophy, goodie bag for each member, lunch at a restaurant or a fun trip at the end of the year.
